We speak whatever Krsna has spoken. That's all.

Svarupa Damodara: We should take knowledge from Krsna.
Prabhupada: Yes.
Svarupa Damodara: And Prabhupada.
Prabhupada: Yes. Prabhupada is giving you the same knowledge, that's all.
There is no question of cheating. I have received this knowledge from Krsna, and you take this. That's all. My business is finished.
Kirtanananda: Things equal to the same thing are equal to each other.
Prabhupada: Yes, that is the duty. Parampara system means the spiritual master shall not give anything which is not spoken by Krsna. That is Caitanya Mahaprabhu's... Yare dekha, tare kaha 'krsna'-upadesa: "You become guru under My order." "But I do not know anything nicely, how can I become guru?" "No, you have no botheration. You simply take Krsna's word and say, and you become guru."
amara ajnaya guru hana tara ei desa
yare dekha, tare kaha 'krsna'-upadesa
[Cc. Madhya 7.128]
If the child says to another man, "Father said, 'This is this,' " then he is perfect. He has learned from the father, and the father is perfect, then whatever he says, it is perfect. Why should he take so much botheration? So our, process is that, that we become guru not like that rascal Guruji, no.
We speak whatever Krsna has spoken. That's all. Of course, we try to impress upon you with your reason, logic, but we shall speak the same thing, not anything else. Krsna says, "I am supreme;" We say, "Krsna is supreme."
That's all. Where is the botheration? I haven't got to find out by my logic and induction whether Krsna is supreme. That I have already done. So Krsna is supreme. There is no doubt about it. Now, whatever Krsna says, it is all right. That's all.

Duty of Married Men

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada was traveling trough Orissa with his disciples, one day as he was coming back from the Saksi Gopal temple, some people on the way asked for alms from the married men who accompanied Srila Prabhupada, but none of them gave anything. Seeing this, Srila Prabhupada (Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati) stopped, sat down, and started to talk about the duties of married men.

He said:

"If married men think: 'I must not give any of my money, which I consider reserved for Krishna, to the poor and deprived', then they are really showing symptoms of wretchedness, cruelty and lack of compassion for others. They should not consider that giving charity to the poor is a fruitful activity. This kind of mentality shall make their hearts hard and they will suffer of greed. As a result of this they shall not want to spend their money, not even on the devotional service to the Supreme Lord, which is the ultimate goal in life. This will invite offenses in the service. To save ourselves of this kind of deceit and sinful concept, Sri Gaurasundara used to give money and other things in charity to the poor people during His pastimes as a married man. The money we have, we have only gotten by the Lord's grace, if we give some of it to the mendicant poor people, then it is not a waste of money, rather it is its correct use. Serving prasadam to others is the necessary duty of every married Vaishnava. Even if these people have turned to poor by karma or their destiny, even so, they are still a part of the Lord's family. Therefore it is definitively the solemn duty of every honest married man to help them".

Look at the picture below and you can see where this guy broke through the guardrail, right side where the people are standing on the road. The pick-up was traveling from right to left when it crashed through the guardrail. It flipped end-over-end, across the culvert outlet, and landed right side up on the left side of the culvert, facing the opposite direction from which he was traveling.

Now look at the 2nd picture below...

Sankirtana Marathon Pep Talk Thingy

Caution! Beware! Reading quotes from “If You Want to Please Me...” or “Distribute Books, Distribute Books, Distribute Books,” can put a person in an altered state of awareness during the holiday season. And if you read them out loud others may become similarly affected.

The other day a devotee read these words aloud as we listened:

There is no doubt about it; to distribute books is our most important activity. The temple is a place not for eating and sleeping, but as a base from which we send out our soldiers to fight with maya. Fight with maya means to drop thousands and millions of books into the laps of the conditioned souls. Just like during the war time the bombs are raining from the sky like anything...

Everyone was a little struck just by the sound of it. Why do these old words sound like some fresh poetry? It is only a paragraph taken from a letter written by Srila Prabhupada in 1973. It does not rhyme; it has no meter, and it refers to bombing!

Srila Prabhupada surely saw our weaknesses: Westerners with opulence, influence and just plain misplaced aggression. He knew we needed more than a mild temple life to make us satisfied. His words “Just like in war time the bombs are raining from the sky like anything,” capture and engage our imagination.

Movements other than the sankirtana movement simply cannot engage the potential spiritual energy in the hearts of mankind so completely. For example, the New Age Movement has many persons practicing yoga, organic diets and personal self-improvement. How very powerful it has been over the last so many years! Modern people’s strong desire for a quality life style finds hope in elaborate seminars, retreats, study, association, crystals and candles.

They get an improved sense of well-being. They may learn for the first time that they are something other than their mind. They may start to consider healthier choices when they fill their stomachs. They try yoga asanas and breathing to cut down on the stress of career and poor relationships.

Devotees know their new-found information is an old wine in a new bottle. If they are something other than their material mind, as they may discover, then what is the identity of the soul? If going organic is their new fascination, how can they learn that their food should be an offering to God? A sequence of asanas and breathing is a good cure for a headache, but without knowing the Yogesvara, it is all sadly lacking.

Prabhuapda explains in Bhagavad-Gita, “without Krsna Consciousness they do not even know what are the causes for material happiness.” And so the New Age continues, but because it has no all-encompassing engagement such as devotional service and the distribution of Krsna conscious information, its disciples remain self-improved but stuck on self-improvement.

“Being full of contradictions, all forms of religion but bhagavata-dharma work under conceptions of fruitive results and distinctions of “you and I’ and “yours and mine.” The followers of Srimad-Bhagavatam have no such consciousness. They are all Krsna conscious, thinking that they are Krsna’s and Krsna is theirs.”
-Srimad-Bhagavatam 6.16.41

We took birth in an age of popular innovations such as fast food (cow slaughter) and nuclear weapons (human slaughter). We need deeper purification than we even know. Srila Prabhupada could see exactly what we needed, he was a book distributor himself and he understood its potential for engaging us. Practically, he invented it. He traveled all over India distributing Srimad-Bhagavatam and then he came to America and distributed it here.

“Fight with maya means to drop thousands and millions of books into the laps of the conditioned souls.” He could understand that book distribution would engage us in a way that we would be physically, actively and very sincerely approaching others who have the same contamination as ourselves.
That is perhaps the single most truly beautiful and addicting quality of book distribution: the more you work for others, the more it works on you. It puts you in an altered state of awareness. If you are truly out there for the purpose of benefiting the people you meet, if that is actually your pleasure, your happiness, and your meditation, you are the luckiest person in the world, and Krsna is in your hand.

George Carlin's Views on Aging

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

"How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

"How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . you become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony . YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60 .

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REA CH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; "I Was JUST 92."

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I 'm 100 and a half!"
May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

When people properly glorify the Supreme Personality of Godhead or simply hear about His power, the Lord personally enters their hearts and cleanses away every trace of misfortune, just as the sun removes the darkness or as a powerful wind drives away the clouds.
