Recent I learned that the sound “Alleluia” (Christian for ‘praise the Lord’) takes its origins from the Hebrew word “Hallelujah”. “Hallelu” basically means “glorify” and “Jah” (as Rastafarians can attest) is a shortened form of the Hebrew name for God: “Jahweh” or “Yahweh”.
