Homicide Squad Detectives join investigation into woman’s death – Far North Coast

Investigators from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command are being assisted by Homicide Squad Detectives as they examine the suspicious death of a woman at a property near Murwillumbah, on the state’s far north coast.

Police were called to the Hare Krishna retreat on Tyalgum Road at Eungella about 8.30pm on Monday (20 February) and located the body of the 30-year-old woman in a dam.

A crime scene was established and a canvass of the area was conducted by police.

The woman’s death is being treated as suspicious.

A post mortem examination is being carried-out today at Newcastle Morgue to determine a cause of death and also formally identify the woman. It’s believed the victim is from the Tweed Heads area.
